Portland Japanese Garden


T Portland Japanese Garden traditional Japanese garden occupying 5.5 acres (22,000 ²), located within Washington P hills Portland, Oregon, USA.

T garden designed y Professor Takuma T beginning 1963, though garden opened public 1967.

I study conducted y Journal Japanese Gardening, ranked first 300 public Japanese gardens outside Japan considered authentic. T notable because traditional Japanese garden normally takes hundreds years evolve mature, Portland Japanese Garden evolved quickly—a fusion hurried western style stately eastern expression.

According traditional design, garden combines three elements which represent earth: stone represents mountains islands strength support, water center represents purity, plants grace texture, color growth.
